Parents' Links (PaLs)
Join PaLs, Yangzheng Primary School's parent support group, to help shape your child's learning and well-being alongside the school community.
In Yangzheng Primary School, the roles of the Parents’ Links or PaLs (Parent Support Group of the school) are as follows:
Supportive partner in education
The PaLs complements the school by aligning with the school’s objectives, supporting and strengthening the school’s programmes to improve our children’s well-being and learning.Bridge between the parents and the school
The PaLs listens to parents’ feedback on operations, practices and programmes, and provides feedback to the school. The PaLs also facilitates the school’s communication to parents.Magnet to attract other parents
Parents who are actively involved in the PaLs are better able to reach out to other parents and involve them. Over time, more parents can contribute to make the school environment more conducive to learning.
PaLs provides parents with varied opportunities to share services, expertise, knowledge and time with the school for the benefit of our children. Come join us today if you have not yet done so. We welcome parents to join us even if you can only make time for one activity in a school-year.

Engagement Session with Parents’ Links Members and Family Bonding Day 2023
On 29 April 2023 (Saturday), our school engaged with our PaLs members via an Engagement session before the Family Bonding Day organized specially for them and their families. PaLs Members are important and valued members of the community. This event aims to promote bonding amongst the PaLs Members as well as parent-child relationship building. The two activities which were organized for our PaLs Members and their families during the Family Bonding Day were Laser Tag and Poolball. It was a truly a great bonding session that Saturday morning amongst the PaLs Members as well as between parent and child!
Parents Appreciation Lunch 2022
On 14 November, the school organised a Parents Appreciation Lunch to show our appreciation and acknowledge the contributions of our parents who had taken time to volunteer in our various school activities this year. Each parent was presented a gratitude card and also a Yangzheng bear as a token of appreciation. Yangzhengnites were present to witness the impact of active volunteerism. We hope this will inspire them to do the same and be active contributors. Thank you parents for your time and we look forward to our continued partnership in 2023!

Teachers’ Day Celebration 2022
This year’s week-long Teachers’ Day Celebration that ended with a concert would not have been possible without our PaLs (parent support group) who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this year’s celebration a memorable one. We would like to express our sincere thanks to them for making the teachers feel the tremendous support they have from parents. This means a lot to us as we journey together to nurture the children.
A total of 45 PaLs members, led by the PaLs Exco, were involved in the Teachers’ Day Celebrations this year. Your kind gesture is greatly appreciated by all of the teachers and staff in Yangzheng Primary School. I am sure our students also enjoyed the time and learnt a lot from all the parents too!

Family Bonding Day 2022
On 27 August 2022 (Saturday), our school conducted a parent-child bonding terrarium workshop. During the workshop, parents and their children were introduced to cushion moss and fittonia, and learnt how to build a self sustaining ecosystem in a bottle using these materials. Our parents and their children learnt about the science of the water cycle within a terrarium, and let their creativity run wild when they created a landscape together using a variety of different figurines. On top of that, things were made more fun and exciting with a kahoot quiz at the beginning and a mini competition at the end for the best made terrarium. Cute mementos were given out as prizes.

They were brought on a learning journey to Insectta, which is Singapore’s first black soldier fly farm located in Singapore, where they learnt more about the superheroes of this insect farm: the black soldier fly, tried their hand at insect farming activities, and learnt how insect farms are revolutionizing sustainable agriculture. Through this interactive and informative virtual tour, our parents and their families went behind the scenes and learnt more about food waste, insect farming, our environmental challenges and sustainable practices.
