Explore how the Music Programme helps pupils express themselves creatively through lessons, enrichment workshops, and live performances.
The Music Programme, which includes the General Music and Music Enrichment workshops (AMIS), focuses on nurturing pupils’ creative expression and communication through Music.

Pupils will develop an understanding of musical elements and concepts and these are reinforced through musical experiences. These include the following:
Imitate rhythmic and melodic patterns using body percussion, voice and different classroom percussion instruments
Describe the qualities of the music using appropriate terms when listening and performing music
Perform on a melodic instrument with good tone and expression
Compose a simple melody using a range of music instruments
Evaluate and comment on the music that they have heard
Understand music in local and global cultures
The music curriculum provides opportunities for pupils to develop a connection to music and lay the foundation for a life-long engagement in music.

The school has also put in place the following Music enrichment workshops for pupils to enhance their skills and knowledge with professional AMIS instructors:
P1: Ethnic music percussion
P2: Angklung (foundation)
P3: Angklung
P4: Ukulele
P5: Kalimba
P6: Music Sequencing (using Garage Band)

Arts Education Assembly Programmes
For exposure programmes, pupils are introduced to various art forms through Arts Education assembly performances. Some of these programmes are as follows:


Exposure to different types of traditional drums
For pupils with special interests to demonstrate their musical talents, they are invited to perform in events such as our school’s Anniversary Concert, Teachers’ Day and JOY concerts.
